Copley Pastoral Field Day aims to bring together producers, researchers and agribusiness professionals to share knowledge and explore opportunities that drive profitable and sustainable cattle operations. Whether you’re looking to refine your bull selection strategy or improve business profitability, this event is designed to provide valuable takeaways for producers of all scales.

We’re bringing together some key industry experts, with speakers chosen not just for their skill and knowledge, but for their ability to communicate complex topics in a way that’s engaging, relevant, and practical.

What’s on the agenda?

Herd Nerds – With Professor Ben Hayes, Dr. Hannah Siddle, and Dr. James Copley. They offer insights into genomics, disease resistance, carbon emissions and genetic selection.

Profit Pros – Featuring Ian McLean, Ardie Lord and Tom Copley, this session unpacks the financial and strategic decisions that drive sustainable, long-term profitability in beef production.

Bull Selection Session – Head down to the yards for a hands-on session looking at how data and analysis can inform bull selection and long-term herd development.

Curious World of Family Beef Business – Hear from multi-generational operations including Bain Brothers Grazing Co., Lord Pastoral and Copley Pastoral as they discuss building and maintaining a productive, profitable and enjoyable family enterprise.

The day will conclude with drinks and dinner—a great opportunity to continue conversations and catch up with fellow producers. We are excited to welcome you as we celebrate 140 years of Copley Pastoral in 2025.
